Staying here epitomizes urban luxury offering hardwood floors, tall ceilings, welcoming decor, high-quality furnishings and amenities. Unit 31 maximizes the surrounding views and natural light in each room. Upon entering the condo, there is a gracious storage area for coats and shoes. The hallway into the living area has attractive grasscloth wallpaper and an art wall featuring Maine scenes. 

Living & Kitchen: The heart of Unit 31 is the kitchen and dining area. We like to say that Apex kitchens are meant to be used. The owners love to cook and have stocked it with pretty much everything you will need. You are within walking distance to a fishmonger, cheese shop, wine store and you can visit the twice weekly farmers market at Deering Oaks. Creating locally-sourced meals is a favorite experience for Apex guests. The kitchen has a chic design, with tall white glossy knobless cabinets and refrigerator; gas range; dual ovens and separate undercounter wine fridge. The long granite-topped breakfast bar offers seating for three plus additional storage underneath. 

There is a long white dining table for eight with padded gray chairs and is lit by a glass bubble chandelier. 

After dinner, relax on the comfortable sectional couch to watch the flat panel TV or turn on the gas fireplace and watch the sunset with a glass of wine. There is a marble topped coffee table and end tables plus cozy throw pillows. 

The entire wall of the kitchen and living space is floor-to-ceiling windows that slide open to allow the ocean breeze and hum of the city flow through; don’t worry about noise, however. This building was outfitted with superior soundproofing–even the owners say they can’t even hear their upstairs neighbors or cars when the windows are closed. The West facing view highlights the silhouette of City Hall and the historic buildings on Congress Street with the sunset behind. 

Bedrooms & Baths: There are two bedrooms and two full baths in Unit 31. The primary en suite is located off the living room. The king sized bed is outfitted with locally made Cuddledown linens and pale blue coverings. For your belongings, there are coordinating wooden dressers and a duo of bedside tables with reading lamps. Each window can be opened for fresh air and covered with privacy blinds. A large “walk through” closet leads to the primary bath. Finished with slate gray flooring, a floating wooden vanity and sink and oversized glass stand-up shower, the bath area is a spa-like respite after a long day. 

The secondary bedroom is located off the entry hallway and has a sliding door to close off from the rest of the space. There is a queen-sized bed with a handsome wooden headboard and is outfitted with luxurious linens and pillows. For your belongings, there is a large bureau and closet that extends the length of the hallway. A large picture window allows natural light and can be covered with privacy blinds.

Guests in this room will use the full bath that is convenient to the living space as well. 

Building & Parking: Twenty Thames was completed in 2021 and features the newest technology in design and engineering, including Triple E glass and superior soundproofing. There is one parking space included in the rental and there are short term spaces connected to the entrance for unloading groceries or guests. The shared lobby has a comfortable couch, local art, mailroom, valet closet including a rolling luggage rack and elevator. To enter the building there is a security code that changes every 24-hours. 

Location: As Portland grew over the past decade, this area was developed into an Eastern waterfront neighborhood; the ocean is just one block away. New buildings, including the corporate headquarters for WEX, hotels, elevated restaurants and a proposed seaside park surround this location. Within a few minutes walk, you can be in the Old Port, financial and arts 
district. Biking and walking trails are abundant in this area and Boston is 100 miles away.
