Welcome to the Apex Luxury Rentals Concierge Page. These are a collection of local businesses, services and products that guests have told us elevates their time in Maine. This year, we added a collection of women-owned businesses. If you enjoy something during your stay that we may have missed, let us know so we can share with future guests. FOOD AND DRINK

Lady Shuckers: Lady Shuckers is a mobile-raw bar and special event catering company invested in amplifying the voices of females and minorities on the working waterfront. Women-owned and operated in Portland, Maine, Lady Shuckers sources, primarily from female-run sea farms, and co-sponsors cross-sector partnerships with local businesses to increase representation and resiliency for the Maine seafood brand, while helping to shape a narrative of diversity and inclusion for the aquaculture industry in our coastal economies.



Vena’s Fizz House: Vena’s Fizz House is a cocktail/mocktail bar and mixology shop that is also a go-to resource for mixology education. Their FIZZ ED Mixology Classes are offered both virtually and in person – with or without spirits. Book classes at: Vena's Fizz House

The Messy Cookie: It is the paint night you get to eat! Krystina supplies everything you need to decorate beautifully-themed cookies either virtually or in person. It is a fun family or girl’s night event. Learn more: The Messy Cookie

Wine Wise Sails: Enjoying wine and a cruise around Casco Bay with Sommelier Erica Archer. From May through October, she offers many different themes, regions and events. These sell our quickly, so browse her page when you know you are coming to Maine: Wine Wise Sails

Coffee by Design: If you have stayed in an Apex home, you have most likely noticed the Apex Luxury Blend coffee we stock in the kitchens. There are a few brick and mortar locations throughout Portland, and they do a wonderful job supporting women-roasters and growers around the world. Coffee by Design

Maggie Mae’s: Located in Yarmouth, close to our Falmouth, Cumberland and Yarmouth homes, this shop offers wonderful custom salads, prepared meals, the best homemade chocolate chip cookies and charcuterie boxes ready to take to the beach, on the boat or back to bed. See their menus at: Maggie Mae's

Sea Bags: More than likely, you have seen these trendy and sustainable recycled sails-turned-bags before. The original Sea Bags company continues to add new patterns, designs and custom offerings to their line. Visit the Portland or Freeport store and online: Sea Bags

Chappy Wraps: These luxuriously soft blankets are in many of our homes for added comfort if you want an extra layer for the deck or couch. They offer many seasonal colors and patterns and make a beloved gift from Maine: Chappy Wraps

Aristelle: Located in Portland’s Old Port, Aristelle sells silk lingerie, robes and cozy pj’s, loungewear and bridal sets. Ashley reminds women to get fitted properly for a bra when they stop by; most women wear the wrong size! Aristelle

Elizabeth Moss Galleries:
There are two galleries that showcase Maine’s contemporary artists. Visit her site to see her calendar of events and portfolio of artists. We love supporting local artists and makers.

Meal Delivery & Personal Chef: The kitchens in Apex homes are designed to be used. Rosemont Market and Bakery have locations close to most of our properties. They offer the finest in local produce and meats as well as small-batch cheeses, wines, and craft beers. Rosemont offers our guests curbside pickup for all of their goodies as well as in-store shopping.  
 
Considering a cozy night in? A revel board is a perfect snack to snuggle up by the fire to enjoy. There are sweet smores options to cater to your inner child, as well as gorgeous savory options that will be the talk of your gathering. The Messy Cookie Parties: Krystina hosts themed cookie icing parties in your rental! Either in-person or via Zoom, she gets you everything you need to decorate your own cookies. We have done it, and it is such a fun (and sweet!) way to spend an hour of your time in Maine.

 
The Shuck Shack: Brendan will come to your rental with oysters that have been harvested from his personal oyster farm that morning. He adds a level of delicious sophistication to your stay with his shucking skills, sauces, and flavor pairings. Call him for pricing and details at (207) 380-9888

Grocery Delivery:   Whole Foods in Portland offers free delivery of grocery and specialty items.   Hannaford and Shaw's Supermarkets both offer grocery delivery through Instacart.      ToDineIn.com and UberEats are also options that deliver local favorites right to your table.

Fitness: We will certainly not judge you if you pass over this section. But for those of you who can’t skip a workout even on vacation, here are a few local experts that can come right to the house, meet you on the beach, or even do a virtual visit. (Several of our homes do have exercise equipment, such as water rowers or bikes, and we can let you know upon booking if your property includes any.) 
 
Kendra Jarratt: Kendra is a certified nutritionist and fitness coach. She is an expert at taking where you are in your journey and creating a workout to meet your needs. Visit her site for information and to schedule an appointment. 
 
Kara Sprague: owner of Vacationland Yoga is available for private yoga, stretch, and meditation classes in your rental, on the beach, or anywhere your mat takes you.  She is versed in several different styles of yoga and can guide you in a personalized session based on your level and goals. 



Photographers: Many of our guests opt to use the natural backdrop of Maine for precious photoshoots. It seems rare these days to have everyone in one place -- and these photographers can capture memories for you.
 
Nina Cutter: We love Nina’s ability to capture the pure silliness of children. That isn’t to say she can’t also photograph adults, but she has a knack for getting the shots of kiddos that will definitely make the holiday card. See her portfolio and contact information here
 
Heidi Kirn: Heidi is a well-known wedding and lifestyle photographer. She loves photographing in a group setting and gets amazing candids of pure happiness. Her studio also rents out a GIF photo booth, that makes gatherings extra festive. Visit her website here

Massage: Isn’t it such a treat to get a massage on vacation and not even leave the house? While there are many wonderful spas in the area, sometimes a massage is even better in the living room. Jill from At Home Massage offers therapeutic chair massage, traditional massages, and Reiki at very affordable pricing and her clients say her work is among the best they’ve ever had.

Florist: Adding local flowers into your stay is an easy and beautiful way to feel even more at home. We love these florists because they source from local flower farms.
 
Florals by Fitzy: Not only are these arrangements whimsical but you can add on packages of exquisite sugar cookies made by a local baker. Visit her page for options and photos.
 
Flowers by Cody: Cody is also a wedding photographer, so his eye for the exceptional is on point. Especially loving the use of lush local roses, his arrangements will be a pop of color for your stay. Contact Cody here.
 
Harmons Floral Company: With three locations, Harmons Floral Company has been a Portland tradition since 1887. With their acumen for all styles of arrangements, they can create something extra special for your table or special event. 
 


Air Banners, Aerial Photography, and Tours:
 
Screaming Eagle Aviation : Screaming Eagles Aviation Inc. is a small owner-operated general aviation aerial advertising company, flying over the Maine coast in the summer. They fly both aerial letter banners and billboard banners a perfect idea to celebrate a special occasion at your rental property. This unique company also performs scenic flights which you can book on their website.  Additionally, they also sell aerial photography.  

Mountain Activities:
 
Sunday River: Sunday River is a member of the Boyne Resorts family, consisting of excellent, snow-filled ski areas from East to West. With 135 trails and glades, this mountain is a perfect option for someone who would like to stay closer to the Southern Maine area. Twilight skiing is one of their most popular activities but they also offer snow tubing, dog sledding, and ice climbing.
 
Sugarloaf: One of the most prestigious mountains in Maine, Sugarloaf is a base for all things skiing. With many different pass options, whether your stay is short-term or long-term, there’s an affordable option. Not only limited to alpine trails, but nordic skiing is also possible on more than 90km of trails. Looking for something a little more private? Take the trail less traveled and explore the Eastern Territory with your own private cat. Groups of up to five people from the same household or traveling group can now book two hours of cat skiing on weekends when conditions allow. 
 
Sugarloaf may be best known as an alpine skiing resort, but tucked away in the woods just minutes from the base area is Maine's largest Nordic center. Surrounded by some of the most picturesque trails in New England, snowshoeing has long been a popular activity and recently fat biking has become a popular method to get out. Take a spin around the NHL-sized ice skating rink to finish off the day. 
 

Holiday Activities:

Gardens Aglow: Join Coastal Maine Botanical Garden in Boothbay for Gardens Aglow – the largest light show in Maine! Gardens Aglow will light up the Boothbay peninsula for the seventh year in a row in 2021 as a driving tour. In addition to the dazzling lighting displays at the Gardens, visitors will also enjoy exploring the region to view entries in our Lighting Contest, which will be viewable on our map. Winners of the contest will be chosen by popular vote in a text-to-vote platform.
 
 
Boat Charters/Rentals:
 
Portland Paddle: Blessed with a coastline that seems to go on forever, Maine offers spectacular days on the water. Portland Paddle creates group tours, guided expeditions around Casco Bay, kayak and SUP instruction, and rentals for your pleasure. Visit their site here.

Freedom Boat Club: For those of you that are members of the FBC in your home state, there are three outposts in the Portland and Lakes Region, where you can reserve fishing boats or Cats. Visit their local page here

Rock Bottom Fisheries: Visiting Portland and looking for a fun and memorable experience? Book a harbor tour on our authentic Maine fishing boat! Cruise the spectacular Maine coast on a Sunset Tour or a private charter for your family or group. If you’re looking to hands-on, haul and set traps on a Lobster Tour!
 

Personal Styling: Sometimes on vacation, we look into our suitcase of clothes and realize we don’t have anything to wear -- especially in Maine, where the weather can change every five minutes. These stylists can bring options to you and help you incorporate them into your outfits.  Or sometimes it is just fun to have a new set of eyes on your existing clothes and help you create fully new looks.
