The community is right on Casco Bay and the view is over Dimillo’s Marina where sunsets, sailboats, kayaks and occasional seals enhance your living scenery. You are mere steps to Commercial Street and the Old Port where award winning restaurants, shopping, galleries and small Maine treasures abound. 

This rental is offered for a year lease, no exceptions, and is ideal for an individual or couple looking to move to southern Maine for work or to try living here across the seasons. 

Unit 719 is a fully furnished 1-bedroom, 1.5 bath condo on the fifth floor with elevator access. The space has ample natural light and touches of both mid-century modern and coastal furnishings. Attractive fine art, lighting and plants are placed throughout. It recently has had some lovely renovations including coastal white washed floors throughout, central air and both bathrooms have been completely remodeled. Despite the central city location, these units are built to insulate guests from noise.

The rental includes one covered parking space and there is a 24 hour gatehouse for security. 

Kitchen & Living: The focal point of the living area is a large picture window overlooking the harbor. At the peak of the roof line is a small circular window with a sculpture of an eagle taking flight. An area rug with mustard-yellow and cream adds an extra touch of sunshine in the room. There is a couch and two cozy armchairs around a large teak coffee table. A flat-panel TV is mounted across from the couch. A very clever use of space is an alcove with a sky light turned into a “cabana” style lounging area. It can be used to extend the living area or closed off as a guest space. The couch doubles as a queen sized-bed and there are privacy curtains to close off the area. 

Off of the living area is a home office with a fabulous orange shag rug, leather arm chair and desk with two lamps. Above the desk is a skylight so even if you are working, you can feel a bit of the outside world…and you will always know what the weather is!

The galley kitchen has granite countertops and stainless appliances including a refrigerator, dishwasher, a four burner electric stove, plenty of cabinets for storage, coffee maker and electric tea pot. Over the large bay sink, two windows allow you to gaze out to bustling Commercial Street.

For dining, there is a round, glass topped table that seats four with a modern pendant light overhead. 

The half bath in this living space has a sleek and modern vibe with floor to ceiling subway tiles, gray honeycomb flooring, a large mirror that has “selfie lighting” and a European-style floating toilet. The washer and dryer are located behind sliding doors with frosted glass. 

Primary Bedroom & Full Bath: This ensuite space has a queen-sized bed made with the luxurious linens that Apex chooses to use for their guests. There are three windows behind the bed that allow the summer ocean breeze to filter in as you sleep; there are also privacy shades. Two walnut night stands with drawers and lamps flank each side of the bed.   There is also a large walnut dresser.  There is a sleek desk in here as well should a couple both need spaces for working. A large walk-in closet with a frosted glass door is ample space for your clothing. 

The brand new bathroom has granite floors and an oversized glass shower with both a rain shower overhead and a hand-held option. There  is a recessed shelving niche cut into the tiled wall to hold your grooming items, as well as a wooden stool. There is a large mirror over the porcelain sink and two drawers for storage underneath. Another clever use of space is behind the door: Two flat paneled medicine cabinets double as a full-length mirror.  Fabulously renovated to also include a new Toto washlet bidet seat.

If you are looking to relocate to Portland for a year, this Chandler’s Wharf condo is a divine choice.
