Description
Trinity Hill House offers the best of both worlds: Staying here places you ten minutes to Portland’s thriving downtown while allowing you to come home to a serene setting overlooking a grassy peninsula that leads to the water.
The 2-bedroom, 2-bath guest house is freshly renovated & a new addition to the Apex portfolio. Decorated with nods to Maine’s rich marine connection, the second-floor space also has a private deck, fire pit & access to a dock where you can launch kayaks and SUP.
Living & Kitchen Area: Newly renovated, Trinity Hill House welcomes you right into the bright and spacious kitchen and living area. This open concept space is drenched in natural light from the several windows and doors that lead to the deck. There are new hardwood floors throughout and the walls are a fresh, bright white. The cathedral ceilings give a wonderful airy energy to the area. It is tastefully decorated with nods to the Maine sea, with paintings and touches throughout.
Upon coming up the stairs from the garden level entrance, you see the kitchen, which is designed for entertaining. With brand new stainless steel appliances, a gray granite-topped breakfast bar with three white swivel chairs and plenty of dark gray cabinets for storage, the kitchen is a dream for a home cook. We especially love the iron rack hanging from the ceiling for red pots and pans–it is such a great space saver and feels very French. It is appointed with everything you need including a coffee maker and large toaster oven.
To the right of the kitchen is a round wooden dining table for four with high-backed blue linen chairs. A nautical-themed chandelier hangs over the table. Several large windows span this wall, so you have a beautiful view while eating.
The living area is on the far end of the room, with a large, comfortable leather couch with a coffee table, two bucket chairs that swivel with a small table in between. A flat panel TV is mounted on the wall and can be angled towards the viewers.
Two doors open to a private deck. The 180-degree view here is stunning. A grassy yard slopes to the trees and the ocean beyond. You can smell the salty air and hear the water moving and call of seabirds. While staying here, you can access a dock for lounging or non-motorized water sports, such as kayaking or SUP. We can help you arrange renting one if needed. There is a stone firepit for you to use as well, with chairs for relaxing.
Sleeping & Bath:
Primary Bedroom: This spacious bedroom is painted in a rich cream paint, has new hardwood floors, a round area rug with blues & golds and an antique marble-topped side table with a flat panel TV atop it. There is a king-sized bed fitted with luxurious linens, pillows and duvet. There are two wooden night stands with reading lamps & small drawers. For clothing, there is a bureau with nine drawers and a wide closet with shelving and interior lighting. Four windows allow for natural light & fresh air; there are also black-out curtains for a peaceful slumber.
Secondary Bedroom: The smaller of the two bedrooms is painted in white and gray accents. There is a queen sized bed, also with luxurious linens, pillows and duvet. A large area rug adds a pop of whimsy with a large red anchor over blue stripes. A handsome wooden bureau has eight drawers for clothes and there is a closet with shelving. There are three windows to allow in light and sounds of the sea, as well as red light blocking curtains.
Full Bath: This bathroom is the primary on the second floor, there is an additional full bath with a tub/shower on the garden level. A full accent wall is covered with a pale blue wallpaper dotted with lighthouses. There is a vanity sink with cabinet storage underneath, a large mirror with overhead sconces, linen closet and a standup shower. A full-size stacked washer and dryer are in a nook behind the door.
Garden Level Space: Upon entering the guest house on the ground level, there is a full bathroom and additional room that can be used as a home office, guest space or storage.
Location: As mentioned, you are a 10-minute drive to downtown Portland. But there are plenty of amenities in Falmouth within a couple of miles, including a shopping center, specialty markets, restaurants, access to hiking trails and weekly farmers market.
